Fluoride, is an element that establish chemical bonds in the tooth structure and increases resistance to tooth decay. That is based on the principle of strengthening the structure of the enamel by applying fluoride gel locally which contains high concentration fluoride.
There are two types, including topical and systemic. Form applied in the clinic is the topical form. Topical application can be done with gels, foam or lacquer. Systemic application has been scientifically proven to be not effective as topical application. Application of fluoride to the tooth surface has been scientifically proven to be highly effective method to acquire resistance to decay.
Every 4 months, fluoride application is very helpful to prevent bruising. This application to the tooth surface does not pose any harm in terms of the health of children.
